Dimensions: 13 cm diameter X 5 cm height
A frog waits, patiently, inside the glossy and glazed waters, while the flies revolve around him, unaware of their probably unfortunate fate. I used wax resist on each fly as well as the bottom of this bowl so they would remain unglazed, whilst everything else shines with transparent glaze.
The flies have been made after the design of a Precolumbian vessel that depicts some insects. When I saw it I really enjoyed the protagonism of the wings of the insects and decided to recreate it with my own touch and technique. Wheel-thrown and hand painted with natural oxides and pigments.
This piece is for decorative and flower/plant use, but not food safe.
